This is a list of publicly available resources, most at no cost, that privacy professionals may find helpful in obtaining information and tools for developing their privacy and data security programs. An earlier version of this list was created for the International Association of Privacy Professionals
(IAPP) Academy in September 2009 and provided at a networking session
facilitated by Mike Hintze of Microsoft and Susan Lyon

This chart provides information regarding security breach notification legislation which has been enacted in U.S. jurisdictions. The pioneering statute on this issue, California's Security Breach Notification Act (Senate Bill No. 1386), is used as the baseline for comparisons herein.
